The No. 17 Aztec men's soccer team (6-1-2, 0-1-1) played No. 6 Stanford (5-1-3, 0-1-3) to a 0-0 draw at the SDSU Sports Deck Sunday afternoon. SDSU has allowed just one goal in their nine matches this season.

"A typical Pac-12 duel where both teams laid a lot on the line," Head coach Ryan Hopkins said. "I think a draw was a fair result for both sides."

Stanford outshot the Aztecs 13-8 and held a 4-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Cardinal also had seven corners while SDSU had none.

SDSU goalkeeper Logan Erb had four saves and collected another shutout. He along with the Aztec defense defended the numerous Cardinal set pieces very well. Erb made a diving save in the 85th minute to preserve the scoreless score.

"When called upon, Logan makes big saves," Hopkins praised. "We think he's one of the best goalkeepers in the country."

QUOTE OF THE MATCH

"Credit to our defense. It starts with our forwards, and our midfielders are winners and our whole backline is solid. It's not just one of two guys. That's why we get clean sheets and why we are probably the best defensive team in the country."
