Finals season can be one of the most stressful times of the year for SDSU students. At times, it can be difficult to study at home or in the same study spots. Sometimes, a new environment can serve as an opportunity to blow off steam, stay focused and get work done.

With exams now underway, keep a lookout for these study spots on campus and in the college area. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to concentrate or a lively cafe to boost your confidence, these locations will help you in preparations for finals week.

Student Lounge

Looking for a public spot on campus? The Student Lounge, located in the Aztec Student Union, may be the place for you. Located on the first floor, The Student Lounge is the perfect space for group studying and projects. Their seating options give room for socializing and staying productive on assignments. Students can also come here to relax, listen to music or take a name. The space has sections for collaborative work and couches for winding down.

Student Services West

If you’re more of an outdoors person, the second floor of the Student Services West building is the spot to be. Enjoy the fresh winter air while studying from a rooftop in preparation for your exams. This vibrant space sets the tone for solo studying and small groups while enjoying the nature around you. With multiple tables and benches, The Student Services West rooftop provides an escape from indoor study rooms.

Storm Hall

Storm Hall is sectioned on the edge of the campus. This secluded area, provided with high-rise views, puts studying and relaxation to a new level. Alongside Starbucks, the Aztec Market and Westcommons, you have access to sets of couches and benches.

The Living Room Cafe

Students who typically prefer to study off campus should check out The Living Room Coffeehouse. Located on El Cajon, this study session coffee shop can be the studious environment to stay on task as an off campus student. Just as the name suggests, The Living Room Coffeehouse offers a comfy home vibe like no other. There are couches, benches, tables and charging stations for students. The best part is that students can grab a bite to eat or take a quick break to have a coffee chat with some friends.

Community Resource Centers

Keep a lookout for study events at our Community Centers. Overall, their missions are to support the success of SDSU students while supporting equity, justice and inclusion. Provided services can include snacks, printers, scantrons and many more! For more information, look at SDSU’s Community Centers page.

SDSU Library

It’s time to go back to the basics with the busiest part of campus during finals week, the SDSU Library. Needless to say, the SDSU Library is a hub for multiple study spots on campus. From the Love Library floors to The 24/7 Study Area and computer labs, the SDSU Library will never disappoint in catering to students' needs. Starting Dec. 12, they will be serving snacks, games, earplugs and coloring utensils at their study break tables. In addition, on Dec. 13 at 11 a.m. and Dec. 14 at 3 p.m., SDSU's therapy dog, Luna, will be making an appearance!
