San Diego State has announced its promotions for Saturday’s football season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce at Snapdragon Stadium. The game will kickoff at 5 p.m. PT and broadcasted live on truTV and MAX.

Parking lots at Snapdragon Stadium open five hours before kickoff (noon PT) while the stadium gates open two hours prior (3 p.m.).

It will be a Beach Bash at Snapdragon Stadium and the first 10,000 fans through the stadium gates receiving a free SDSU Hawaiian shirt. Saturday is also SDSU Faculty/Staff Day, Aztec Kids Club Day and San Diego State will honor our local military from MCAS Miramar.

The new River Park Block Party opens at noon with a DJ playing until 2 p.m. before a live Southern California beach band takes the stage from 2-4:30 p.m.

Other activations at the block party include a Kids Zone with a prize wheel, face painter and playground, a 360-degree photo booth, food and beverage garden, big screen TVs with other college football games playing, helmet throne and yard games. Additionally, free posters will be given away to all fans while supplies last.

The Warrior Walk, meanwhile, has moved locations and will parade through all the action in the newly-minted River Park and the Yellow Lot beginning at 2:45 p.m. Fans, friends and family members are encouraged to cheer on the team as they exit the buses and walk north toward Snapdragon Stadium. Fans can mingle with the San Diego State spirit squads, including cheerleaders, dance team and band, before watching the Aztecs get ready to do battle inside the stadium.

The Aztecs’ first Honor Warrior, presented by Aztec Link, is Lynell Hamilton. Hamilton was a four-year letter winner with the Aztecs, earning first-team Freshman All-America honors in 2003 by Sporting News and Rivals.com when he ran for 1,087 yards and four touchdowns. That year, Hamilton was also a first-team all-Mountain West selection and a recipient of the team's Byron H. Chase Memorial Trophy, given out to the team's outstanding player. Hamilton went onto play for the New Orleans Saints, helping them to a Super Bowl title in 2010, and then worked with the Aztecs as a graduate assistant coach.

Tickets for Saturday’s season opener are available at GoAztecs.com/fbseasonopener.

Fans can also purchase single-game tickets for any of San Diego State’s six home games as well as season tickets and two or three-game mini-plans.
