The housing project would introduce up to seven residential buildings and one amenities building on campus.
A proposed student housing project would add much-needed space for on campus housing.
Evolve Student Housing is a multi-phased construction project designed to introduce up to seven residential buildings, approximately 4,500 beds and one amenities building on campus. The project is subject to approval by the California State University’s Board of Trustees, and will be before the board sometime in mid-2025.
The university is hosting two public meetings to share information about the project plan:
- Date: Wednesday, September 4, 2024
- Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Location: Montezuma Hall located at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union
- Date: Thursday, September 5, 2024
- Time: 3 to 4 p.m.
- Location: Via Zoom webinar (RSVP is required to attend)
Both public meeting sessions are open to students, faculty, staff and members of the general public to learn about the project overview, the environmental review process under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and potential environmental impacts. At the in-person meeting on Sept. 4, there will also be several stations to learn more about the project.
Both sessions are opportunities to provide written input on the scope and content of the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that will be prepared for the project.
All comments must be shared in writing. There are several ways to submit written comments:
- Via written comment card at the in-person meeting on Sept. 4
- By emailing [email protected]
- By US Mail to Kara Peterson, Director of Planning, San Diego State University Planning, Design & Construction, 5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego, CA 92182-1624
More information about the project is available on the SDSU Housing site.
